Manual therapy
The goal of manual therapy is to reduce discomfort and increase the mobility of joints, soft tissues, and nerves through expert “hands-on” therapy.
Our physiotherapists and osteopaths at physio for all have honed their manual treatment abilities throughout their academic careers and additional postgraduate education.
To evaluate, identify, and treat a wide range of symptoms and diseases, manual therapy is employed.
Benefits of Manual Therapy
- Increase in tissue healing.
- Increasing tissue extensibility and stability.
- Reduce inflammation and pain.
- Facilitate physical therapy through movement.
- Increase joint mobility to stiff joints and range of motion to reduce pain.
- Reduced muscle tension and soft tissue inflammation, leading to Relaxation.
Manual Therapy techniques
Manual joints mobilization or manipulation:
They seek to improve circulation within the joint, joint mobility, and pain-free range of motion.
Joint mobilizations are expert passive movements that are applied to a joint and range in intensity and amplitude. Joint manipulations are passive movements done to a joint with high velocity and low amplitude.
Manual soft tissues therapy
Applying manual pressure to the skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia is known as manual treatment of the soft tissues. The most popular soft tissue manual procedures are:
- Muscle energy techniques
- Neural mobilisation is the movement and gliding of the nerves.
- Myofascial release treats fascial limitations. A web of connective tissue called fascia covers and connects all of the body's muscles, joints, and organs.
