5 Easy Standing Stretch Exercise for Quick Relief and Relaxation
Neck Stretch:
Stand with your feet hip-width apart.
Gently drop your head to one side, bringing your ear toward your shoulder.
Hold for 15-20 seconds, feeling a stretch along the side of your neck.
Repeat on the other side.
Shoulder Roll:
Place your feet comfortably apart while standing.
In a circular motion, roll your shoulders forward.
Roll your shoulders back after 10 to 15 seconds and change direction.
Your upper back and shoulders will feel better after doing this stretch.
Spinal Twist:
Stand with your feet hip-width apart and your arms extended out to the sides.
Slowly twist your torso to one side, bringing your right hand to your left shoulder.
Hold for 15 seconds.
Repeat the twist on the other side.
This stretch is great for promoting spinal flexibility and relieving tension in your lower back.
Quad Stretch:
Put your feet together as you stand.
Bring your heel near your buttocks while bending one knee.
Grab your lower leg with your hand by pulling behind you.
Then, move to the other leg after holding for 15 seconds.
This stretch is ideal for reducing quadriceps stiffness.
Calf Stretch:
Put your back on a solid wall or other surface.
Step back with one foot, keeping it level on the ground.
Until your calf feels a light stretch, lean forward and keep your back heel on the ground.
Switch to the other leg after holding for 15 to 20 seconds.
